Steampunk terrarium lamp

It's nice when you get to see how people react for presents or surprises.
It's even better when you personally craft the said item

Here I am talking about a dear friend of mine who's birthday was recently and surprised her with this little piece
Happy birthday Vero, wish you all the best!

The idea behind this piece was to lighten up an entrance hallway so this is among the first things you see when you enter.

Found this amazingly shaped thick glass jar with a hole running down the middle, just enough to get a lightbulb in and realized it would look nice as a terrarium...

The base of the terrarium lamp is a thread holder from a sewing machine and used some thin copper pipes and all sort of clock parts for decorating the base.

The lack of light from the hallway made me go for the fake ivy witch I painted with glow in the dark acrilic paint.

The lightbulb charges the illuminescent  paint and when you turn it off it glows in the dark, creating an interesting effect
